2021 Dates
SATURDAY 27TH NOVEMBER - SUNDAY 5TH DECEMBER

  • What are the festival dates?
Big Picture Festival 2021 kicks off on Saturday 27th November. Content is programmed throughtout the week, until 5th December 2021, and some films will be available for the duration. There is a full day of films in person at the Bridge House Theatre in Warwick - watch this space for programme announcements!
  • Where does the festival take place?
This year we will have content online so that everyone can enjoy great films from the comfort of their own homes. We're delighted that we can also show films in person again! On Saturday 27th November, we'll be bringing a full day of films to the Bridge House Theatre in Warwick.
  • How much are tickets?
We want as many people as possible to be able to access the festival so tickets will be available on a Pay What You Can Afford basis so you can decide how much you would like to pay. You will see some suggested options in Ticketsource if you'd like to pay, but aren't sure what to give. The Big Picture Festival is run by Live & Local, a not-for-profit organisation that supports voluntary organisations who bring their communities together to enjoy high-quality, entertaining and affordable professional live theatre, storytelling, music, dance, family & children's shows and film screenings.
  • When will the film program be available?
Films are being announced currently - keep checking the What's On page to keep up to date.
  • Do I pay per film?
There are a couple of options: For online content: ticketholders need to buy a festival pass (pay what you want) and this gives access to the full program of virtual screening and short films. This festival pass will also get you in to any of the films at the Bridge House Theatre on Saturday 27th November. Please note that all the virtual screening feature-length films are limited in availability and you must reserve your tickets by emailing films@liveandlocal.org.uk. Visit the ticket page for more information. If you would like to just attend films at the Bridge House Theatre on Saturday 27th November, you can purchase individual ticket for the films. These tickets will not give you access to online content.
  • Can ticketholders watch the films at any time?
Yes and no - all short films will be available to stream from Saturday 27th November until Sunday 5th December 2021 so you can watch them on a day and time that suit you. There will also be one feature length film available for the duration. All other virtual screening feature-length films are scheduled to start at a specific time on a specific date and there is no option to pause or rewind. Please note that all the feature-length films are limited in availability and you must reserve your tickets by emailing films@liveandlocal.org.uk. Visit the ticket page for more information.
  • Can I stop, rewind, fast forward and re-watch movies?"
Yes and no. Short films and one feature-length film will be available to watch as YouTube links or similar so will be viewable in the same way as you would normally watch on YouTube. Once you have access to the films, there are no restrictions on how many times you watch. All other virtual screening feature-length films are scheduled to start at a specific time on a specific date and there is no option to pause or rewind.
  • How does the Virtual Screening Room work?
When you get your Big Picture Festival pass, you can watch any one of the films screening online throughout the week. These are limited availablity and you will need to request a code for the ones you want to watch by clicking 'save my space' on each film in the Audience Area. Important Information – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING - YOU MUST BE IN THE UK TO VIEW - The film will start automatically, at the same time for all audience members and cannot be paused or rewound. You can’t go back to the start or watch at another time. - You will be issued a code on the day of the screening which you must use to log on to a computer to view the film. - Mobile devices and tablets are only supported for chat. A computer (Windows PC or Mac) should be used to watch the film. - You can sign into a second device to join the online chat (2nd device will run chat function only) but the film will only ever play on the first device you sign in with. - Wireless ‘casting’ to TVs is not supported. - Outputting to a TV via an HDMI cable is both technically supported and something we recommend for your enjoyment. - A minimum internet connection speed of 5Mbps is required for streaming, (we recommend over 10Mbps). - Internet Explorer is not a supported browser (we recommend Google Chrome) - You will need to give a screen ‘nickname’ before you can send or see messages in the chat. - If you log out for any reason, you may have to wait a minute or two after logging back in before you can see the film while checks are concluded to ensure their credentials haven’t been shared.
